Tara Okhovatian is the founder of Covered by Tara, an independent health insurance brokerage built on a simple idea: explain, don’t sell. Before insurance, Tara spent years as an independent yoga instructor, work that shaped her holistic approach to health and her belief that real care means looking at the whole person, not just a policy number.
Tara is a licensed health insurance agent throughout the state of Florida, with additional licenses in other states, and is appointed with a range of carriers so she can genuinely shop the market for her clients rather than push a single company’s plans. She’s guided hundreds of clients toward the right coverage for their unique needs, and her business has grown almost entirely through referrals, one relationship at a time.
Beyond insurance, Tara is a certified Level 1 Reiki practitioner and stays active in the Volusia County community, partnering with local providers and carriers on outreach initiatives, including a senior technology education series focused on protecting older adults from scams. As a mother, she brings the same care to her clients that she brings to her own family: patient, thorough, and always honest about what’s actually right for you.
